Sled Dogs
I so enjoyed painting this sketch!
Oil, 12"x9", wrapped canvas
This summer my son and daughter in law took me
on quite the adventure!  A
helicopter ride to a glacier in Skageway, Alaska
and went dog sledding!  I recommend it!

Things to think about before I paint it

List
never ever let the eyes be too close together---
never let the eyes be too far apart!!
I actually have quite a list I think about that has
to do with everything from the attitude to the
notan, values, edges, color, depth, shapes, line,
temperature, anatomy, design.  Is there room
for something a little abstract
and...would I hang it on my wall?

I'm back... it's like starting over

I'm back and it does feel like starting over.  Which is ok
because what I really love about painting is just mixing
the buttery paint and putting it on the canvas!  These two
were good warm ups.  I think I'll go with the light values
in the top study.  Then finally move on!!
